Kevin Stone-Refuge Application

Kevin was born into a very rich Family. His father, owner of a car plant in their hometown of Detroit, spoiled Kevin fervently. Kevin was a very introverted kid. His parents took advantage of their son's good behavior, believing that he didn't need attention if he behaved so well, and often left home, leaving him with their house maid. They bought him stuff to make up for their lack of parental love. He learned very fast how to keep himself occupied as an only child. He didn't exactly mind the peace to himself and often took advantage of his free time as his own form of independence.

Kevin's Grandpa on his dad side was who he received his powers from. His dad did know about his own father's powers so he wasn't too shocked when he found out that Kevin was not normal. They found that their son had a great ability to remember everything. They boasted about their 'gifted' son, not being too careful to hide his extraordinary abilities. They did however not reveal the extent of his gifts.

This made Kevin very happy, finally his parents were paying attention to him. He continued to pour over everything he could get his five-year-old hands on. He began to learn more and more. His parents had soon enrolled him into a Private school with accelerated classes for gifted children. 

After only a year Kevin had started getting horrible migraines. He was unable to think, and process any amounts of information for days. His parent's kept him home from school. At the age of six, a power change triggered an even greater power in the small kid. He shapeshiftKevin's historyed into a small black dog in his sleep. When the nanny walked in she found a small dog instead. She had been shocked to find a dog instead of Kevin, but when it awoke and looked up at her, she saw the same blue eyes that reminded her of the small boy. Ncharaone the less, she brought the disheveled dog downstairs and fed it. After about an hour or so it shifted back into Kevin again to the Nanny's fright. 

When his parents came home he confessed his new ability not knowing his parent's wouldn't be okay with it. And they weren't okay with it. They were horrified, and did research on everything they could to help him. This was different. Of course they had superhuman heritage, and his original power was easy to label gifted child, unlike the new one, which they though was closer to 'freak'. They found someone who had claimed to be a Trainerand claimed he would able to teach their son to control his powers. They quickly agreed to hire him.

Kevin started his training. The man, Named Theos, was in his middle ages. He was strong and muscular and had a stern way about him. Kevin, who was very wary of him, protested to his parents but they told him it was for the better. Kevin, who was usually very shy, became slightly bitter during his training with Theos. The stern mentor belittled him constantly and often made their training sessions overly rough and tedious for a six year old year old kid. But through their training he was able to change back and forth between human and dog at will, but it became very hard for him to turn back, sending him into seizure fits as he shifted.

Kevin soon started to feel more and more independent due to his increase in stregth and slight control of his new abilities. Nearing the the age of seven he ran away. He had many reasons to run away. His parents once again ignored him and his mentor was become intolerable. He hardly trusted anyone anymore. 

Kevin was able to take good care of himself. He would hunt in his dog form and cook his food over fires in the woods. For a six year old he was very adept at survival. He soon found a small group of kids that were also superhuman and were impressed with his abilities. Feeling as if he finally belonged somewhere again, Kevin joined their group, despite the odd feelings he had about their character and personalities. He would find out later these kids belonged to a much larger gang of supers.

Their impressed comments soon died away and they knew that Kevin was weak and they tended to pushhim around. His ability to shapeshift had become even worse, his fits becoming even more violent until he could no longer stand shifting. Unable to use shifting to be more free and independent, Kevin decided to stay in this large gang of supers known as the Revolution Alliance. Kevin gained his fair share in scars during this time due to fights with others in the group. 

Around a year since he'd joined, two other supers named Connor and Amber had a small run-in with their group. Kevin had been called by Collins, the leader of the RA at the time, to help drive the two intruders out. He followed obediently but helped little in the fight. Even though he was 8 years old by this time, he still had difficulties shifting. He watched in awe as the girl, Amber, a shapeshifter, fought along side the white haired boy against Collins. He wanted to talk to her...ask her for help, but his obedience to Collins kept him silent. Amber, noticing Kevin's conflicted look told him that he should come with them, and that they didn't have to be treated like a dirty rat. He could sense a kind feeling about her, something he hadn't sensed in a very long time. Kevin's heart leapt and he followed the two.

Kevin, Amber, and Connor soon met up with Thane, Connor's mentor. Amber helped teach Kevin how to shift without having a fit. The two of them grew an inseparable bond. Kevin also grew very attached to Thane, looking up to him as if he was his father, and Connor as a brother. The four of them continued on many adventures throughout the genocide, war, and even after. Kevin was heart-broken when Amber disappeared after the war. He had vowed that he would find her, tirelessly searching for her and promising himself that he would do better to help her when he found her. 

After Amber returned Kevin returned to his normal self and started working around the Refuge and practicing his training and his shifting. With practice and Amber's guidance Kevin became a very adept shifter, being able to easily shift between three forms. While he is very good with his pain power his sub powers are still very questionable and he has little control over recalling far back memories without difficulty, or blocking himself from recalling memories in his sleep as vivid dreams or nightmares. He has sense struggled with his newfound freedom on the reserve and has changed and adapted very quickly in the few years in which he's been in the refuge. 

After the lockdown he has become considerably more mature and serious, and withdrawn. He spends most of his time sticking around friends and others in the refuge, or with 13 in the RA.
